Greetings and welcome to the first post from here at lefthandblue.us, which at this point is just me talking to myself in this public forum but hey – you have to start somewhere, right?

I’ve been inspired quite a bit in the past few months by fine folks like Chris Brogan, my friend Fred Abercrombie, boingboing.net, and others who use their blogs to offer a unique lens on the world, its blessings, and its oddities and decided I could summon enough prana to jump into the fray.

The intention behind this site is to give props to the people, organizations, and companies I think rock the most. Its meant to be a soapbox for the things I might have to say about the state of the world and my little corner of it in Petaluma, CA—outside the conventional constraints of our conservative local press. It’s a celebration of the things that are most important to me—family, music, art and entertainment, free speech, transparency in government, liberal politics, and service to community.

I’m not sure where all of this will lead, what new wonders will emerge, what assumptions and stereotypes need to be challenged, but I appreciate you taking a look.
